Introducing: Thundarr Road

Download MP3

On Thundarr Road, Noel Thingvall, David May, and Michael May explore the episodes and cities of the Thundarr the Barbarian cartoon in geographical order: not as episodes were produced or aired, but as Thundarr, Ariel, and Ookla would have traveled across the country.

In this introductory episode, the companions talk about the history of Thundarr the Barbarian and their own, personal histories with the show.

  1. Now you guys are in my wheelhouse! This was the 'toon that got me out of bed on Saturdays.

I'll do my best to watch along with you before listening to each episode, but I may need a copy of Michael's map, as I'm not even going to attempt to MapQuest Thundarr's journey on my own :p.

  2. Thanks, Tony! You just made me realize that I totally need to put together a Google Map of the route. Will work on that!

  3. I mostly remember the moon. I was very concerned that the moon was cracked in half. And it was no big deal on the show and I’m like “Is nobody concerned about the poor ruined moon omg”

If this were being made nowadays, a great season thread would be out heroes learning about a pending gathering of all the major wizards to perform a massive spell, and our heroes trying to block it from happening at every turn. Only for the big twist to hit that the wizards are trying to keep the pieces of the moon from causing a further cataclysm, and our heroes and villains have to begrudgingly work alongside each other.
